PhD in Parenting Tweens/Teens is a uniquely designed parent education program for parents of tweens (10-13) and teens (14-18). Using proven parent education methodologies, this program will enhance parent-teen relationships, improve parenting skills, and enable parents to create a healthy, peaceful, and respectful home environment.
This seven-session virtual program has been highly subsidized. The full series costs $100 per family, thanks to the generosity of the Alfred and Bernice Deutsch Millennium Fund. Two cohorts will be offered – Tuesday evenings at 8:00 PM and Wednesday afternoons at 12:00 PM. The Tuesday cohort will run weekly from Oct. 5 – Nov. 16 and the Wednesday cohort will run weekly from Oct. 6 – Nov. 17. Please note that spaces are limited. Only one registration is required per household.
The facilitator of the program is Erica Hruby. Erica is a tween and teen specialist with over 25-years of professional experience working directly with tweens and teens in community, academic, and residential environments. In her work with hundreds of tweens and teens, she has seen it all…and she gets it! She is proud of her ability to help parents navigate their way through late childhood into high school and then into young adulthood. Erica holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on children and teens. She is a mother of two daughters ages 19 and 24.
