**_This event is now sold out of advance tickets. We will be releasing a very
limited amount of tickets for $15 plus tax._**
Montreal and New York are known for their countless contributions to Jewish
food and culture. Their bagels – though sometimes a point of competition
between the two cities – stand out as delicious symbols for generations of
Jewish migration, settlement, and imagination. **A Tale of Two Bagels: Tasting
Montreal and New York’s Best** will be a unique opportunity to learn about,
explore, and – most importantly – to sink our teeth into the legacy of the
bagel as it relates to each city’s Jewish cultural and culinary identity.
We will be joined by food historians and activists Sari Kamin
((https://www.mofad.org/), New York) and Kat Romanow ((https://wanderingchew.ca/), Montreal) who will discuss what makes each
city’s bagel so beloved and how they came to be. We will also hear from
Montreal’s foremost bagel makers about their connections to our cities’
beloved baked goods, and all guests will have the opportunity to participate
in a Q&A following the discussion.
Throughout the evening, visitors will be invited to try complimentary samples
of bagels – and bagel-related treats – from Montreal favourites including (https://www.stviateurbagel.com/), (https://fairmountbagel.com/), (https://www.letrou.ca/),
(https://www.lesgivres.ca/), (https://zaidies.com/), and (https://shelskys.com/). House-made cocktails will be available
featuring ingredients from (https://www.leseltzer.ca/) and (https://cirka.ca/).
Join us in our new space on St-Laurent for a night of noshing, drinking, and
schmoozing about one of our favourite foods. And just for the record, this is
_not_ a competition – you can be your own judge on that one!
** _PLEASE NOTE:_** _Advance tickets are $10 plus tax. A limited number of
door tickets will be available for $15 plus tax. All tickets include
complimentary food samples from our guest vendors._
_Beverages may only be paid by card (debit or visa)._
